The
Lackawanna Yemen Soccer Club is a Not-for-profit organization founded in
1975 in the city of Lackawanna, New York. Its purpose is to serve the
community’s youth through sports providing recreational opportunities
through youth soccer for ages 5 years to 19 years old and education and
social activities, and Educational field trips. Many of the youth that the
club serves are children that come from economically disadvantaged families.
On March
18, 2002 this organization purchased a brick commercial building 3,768 sq.
ft which was a vacant bar and restaurant from public auction from the City
of Lackawanna. This facility was renovated, and open to provide a place for
young people to attend after school.
The Lackawanna Yemen
soccer club building is located at 51 Ingham Avenue in the City of
Lackawanna, New York. The Lackawanna Yemen soccer club opened on September
1, 2002 the Youth Center is expected to initially provide supervised
activities for seven days a week and after school. The facility will serve
about 300 Soccer players a year.
The Club will offer a
place where young people can come and participate in structure activities,
and Academic Enhancement, and Soccer meetings. Computer homework lab and
Computer and internet skills with volunteer tutors, and general game room
also will be provided.
Our Travel teams
are competing in Buffalo and Western New York Junior Soccer League (B&WNYJSL),
and our Men’s team is competing in Buffalo District Soccer League (BDSL),
and the House League Soccer Program.
Today the organization remains a totally volunteer organization, dedicated
to providing a safe, healthy environment in which children can learn
teamwork and sportsmanship. |
